I guess the Sound of Music was on ABC Family a couple weeks ago- there was a preview for it on a several week old Gilmore Girls that I watched today. It started my thought process of my favorite things, and surprisingly (aside from my family and friends) most of my favorite things reside in my freezer--- or should! Honestly, our freezer is typically jam packed, while our fridge has condiments, milk, eggs, and produce. There typically isn't anything else in our fridge-- maybe leftovers? But out freezer holds great, wonderful, amazing things! Such as...
cheese- ALL cheese should be frozen, or burnt- I love burnt cheese, you know the leftover part on the casserole that you have to scrape off- yum!
butter- also frozen
icecream- specifically haggan dazs strawberry
reece's peanut butter cups- ALWAYS better frozen
mini candy bars- such as snickers- once again, better frozen
cake- after baking, smash up the cake, mix in a container of icing, form into balls, freeze, dip in chocolate, freeze, EAT. yum. My favorite way to eat cake. soooo much better frozen.
cake- icecream cake- frozen, otherwise it's a HUGE mess. preferably from DQ.
cookie dough- soooo good when broken into pieces and eaten frozen!
juice- much better as juice pops
I could go on and on and on about things in my freezer- It honestly holds "A few of my favorite things!" I know, random...

Update on the Worm
Pea tells me today that she went looking for "the worm" in her sandbox. I asked her if she found it, and she said, "Yup. He was right where I left him! Under the pile of sand and the bucket." I said, "What a good worm for staying there that long! (picturing a hard, dried up worm in my mind)" She says, "Well, I shoved him under the sand, then piled sand on top of him, then patted it down with the shovel."
Yes, I'm guessing that the worm will always be there.... if you have a toddler, you know how gently they "pat" things. I'm guessing the worm is in a million pieces from cutting, stabbing, hitting, digging.... gross. poor worm.

Pea's Birthday Dress
I saw this dress at a children's store and fell in love with it.... until I saw the price tag. $49.50. YIKES! GULP! I have a hard time spending that kind of money on a dress for me, let alone a dress for my almost 3 year old! So, I decided that I'd make it. Well, hours and hours and hours later, I finally finished it. It was a HUGE pain, but I'm so proud of the turnout! (and it only cost me $12)

Birthdays
Remember when you were a little kid and all you could think about for months beforehand was your birthday? Remember seeing all the presents, invitations, favors, decorations, and getting giddy for the fun that was going to happen? Remember getting a new outfit to wear at your birthday party and making sure that your hair was perfectly cute? Remember the anticipation of friends coming over and gifts to open? I'm still like that! I love my birthday! I get all excited for it, and just can't wait for it to happen. Although, I'm not sure why I get so excited. It happens, every year, without fail, and nothing out of the ordinary happens. But, for some reason, I just still get so excited that I feel the butterflies in my stomach days before my birthday... maybe even weeks!
Here are my two favorite birthdays....
March 22, 2003- I woke up this morning later than usual. I had just come back home for spring break from college, and I wanted to be lazy and stay in bed and do nothing. Sadly, after lying in bed for an extra hour or so, I was bored out of my mind. So, I got up and went to get ready. When I opened my door, there were rose petals leading from my door to the bathroom and to the kitchen. I went into the bathroom and got ready; there were beautiful roses on my sink. I followed the rose petals out to the kitchen and found my favorite breakfast on the table with my parents and Nathaniel sitting there waiting for me. We all ate breakfast and had fun spending time together, then Nathaniel wisked me away for a fun day. He took me to the Franklin Park Conservatory to see the butterflies. It was gorgeous! It was there, in the tower overlooking one of the butterfly gardens, where he proposed. I had NO idea... not even an inkling that he was going to propose. Of course, I said yes! After the gardens, we went to Buca di Bepo for dinner to celebrate our engagement. Nathaniel had invited both sets of parents to come and celebrate with us. It was a wonderful day!
March 22, 2007- 5:30am.... induction for Pea due to BP issues. I spend this ENTIRE birthday trying to have our first child. After all sorts of pain, poking, proding, crying, frustration, etc., I finally got the doctor to stop all medication long enough for me to eat my birthday dinner of choice. Nathaniel went out and got Buffalo Wild Wings and a DQ cake. It was wonderful, while it lasted... Several hours later I was back on the meds trying to get Pea to come out! (It didn't happen until March 23, at 4:30pm) Although this day wasn't Pea's birthday, it is still my next favorite birthday because it was such an important day in our lives.
I'm sure that there will be many more wonderful birthdays in the future. I get giddy even thinking about them! I still can't believe that I'll be a quarter of a century old tomorrow.... where has the time gone???

DRAMA Queen!
Pea- Mommy! There's a worm in my sandbox!
Me- Ok, Go pick it up and play with it.
Pea- (a couple minutes later) Mommy! The worm talked to me!
Me- Wow! That's great! What did it say?
Pea- Um, I don't know. Let me go talk to it again.
Couple minutes later.....
Pea- (screaming and crying) The worm said it was going to bite my head off and eat it for lunch!!!!!!!! waaaaaaaaaah!!!!! He's not a nice worm.
Me- (laughing)- It's too late for lunch, I think the worm was just being silly. Plus he's too small to eat your head. He might just nibble on your pinky toe.
Pea- (immediately stops crying) HUH? It's too late for lunch??? Silly worm!
um? My kid is so random. Bless her heart.

New Dress #4
New Dress #4This dress was by far the easiest dress I've ever sewn! I'm thinking that I might get a bunch of material and make several. The pattern has a couple different necklines, and I could put some ribbon or buttons on to make them look different. It only took me about 45 minutes from starting to cut the fabric until it was finished! I love it!
