We don't normally do the whole "New Year's Resolutions" thing, but this year, I feel like we have compromised so many of the good changes we had been making, so here is our plan to get back on track! I'm going to post one "Section" of our resolutions for the rest of the week... really because I'm a long winded writer, and I'm not interested in boring you to death with one big long dissertation :).
Spiritually: Start doing family devotions at dinner. We have made it a point to sit down as a family and eat dinner every evening, but lately it seems to be a hectic and chaotic time of day. Between feeding 2 kids and ourselves, listening to both kids talk and jabber about the day (or whatever a 1 year old jabbers about), trying to have a semi-conversation about our days at work and home, filling up plates for seconds, and dealing with the kids once they are done eating... it just seems like such a busy time! We don't want our dinnertime to be so hectic that we don't enjoy our family time, and we definitely don't want to push Christ out of our time because we're too busy. So, we are going to start doing family devotions after we have all eaten... which will not only glorify God, but it'll also help instill patience in our kiddos because they both want to get down from the table and get playing the instant they chew that last bite!
Does anyone have any good recommendations for family devotion books that will keep a 1 and 3 year olds' attention?
